Skincare for oily skin
Oily skin produces more sebum than it needs. This can cause the face to become shiny and make pores, blackheads and blemishes appear more noticeable. Oil production is often most visible on the forehead, nose and chin.
Oily skin needs more than cleansing and oil control. Hydration remains important. Over-cleansing or excessive exfoliation can cause moisture loss, sensitivity and tightness. Skin can therefore be oily and dehydrated at the same time.
HOW CAN YOU RECOGNISE OILY SKIN?
• The skin quickly becomes shiny during the day.
• Pores are clearly visible, especially around the nose and chin.
• Blackheads and congestion develop easily.
• Blemishes regularly return.
• Makeup does not remain matte for long.
• The skin may feel slightly thicker.
• Excess oil affects a large part of the face.
• Despite the shine, the skin can feel tight or dehydrated.
OILY SKIN OR ACNE?
Oily skin is not automatically acne-prone. High sebum production can occur without inflammation.
Acne generally involves recurring blackheads, inflamed spots, painful bumps or scarring. Cosmetic skincare can support the care of oil, shine, pores and minor blemishes. Seek medical or dermatological advice for severe, painful, inflamed or scarring acne.

Finish with broad-spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30.
EVENING ROUTINE

Use a serum for oil, visible pores or blemishes.

TAKE CARE WITH OILY SKIN
• Do not cleanse more often than necessary.
• Avoid harsh soaps and strongly stripping alcohol.

• Avoid using several salicylic acid products, peels and scrubs together.
• Do not directly combine strong acids and retinol.
• Do not exfoliate immediately after microneedling, dermabrasion or a professional peel.
• Do not apply facial acids or retinol around the eyes.
• Reduce active products if persistent redness, flaking or burning occurs.
• Apply sunscreen every morning.
OILY OR DEHYDRATED SKIN?
Oily skin produces excess sebum. Dehydrated skin lacks water. Both conditions can occur at the same time.
Shine combined with tightness, fine dehydration lines or flaking often indicates dehydration. Choose a lightweight hydrating serum and non-greasy moisturiser instead of stripping the skin more aggressively.
