Mila d’Opiz Basic Line – Microbiome
The Mila d’Opiz Microbiome range provides a gentle foundation for daily skincare. Its products cleanse while respecting the skin’s natural protective balance. This makes the range suitable for different skin types, including dry, sensitive, combination and oilier skin.
An effective routine begins with a cleanser that removes dirt, makeup, excess sebum and sunscreen without unnecessarily drying the complexion. Microbiome products are designed to leave the skin feeling clean, fresh and comfortable.
What is the skin microbiome?
The skin microbiome consists of microorganisms that naturally live on the skin’s surface. Together with the skin barrier, they form part of the skin’s natural protective system.
Excessive cleansing, hot water and strongly degreasing cleansers can disrupt this balance. The skin may then feel dry, tight or red or become excessively oily.
Microbiome-friendly skincare focuses on gentle cleansing and supporting balanced, comfortable skin. Cosmetics do not change or cure the microbiome but can help prevent unnecessary disruption.
What does the Mila d’Opiz Microbiome range do?
• Removes daily impurities and excess sebum.
• Helps remove makeup and sunscreen residue.
• Cleanses without unnecessary dryness or tightness.
• Respects the skin’s natural balance.
• Supports the skin barrier.
• Prepares the complexion for serum and moisturiser.
• Provides different textures for different skin types.
• Is suitable for daily morning and evening use.
• Supports a fresh, soft and comfortable skin feel.
Which products belong to Mila d’Opiz Microbiome?
Microbiome Milk
A creamy cleansing milk for dry, sensitive, dehydrated or tight-feeling skin. It helps remove dirt, makeup and daily residue without heavily degreasing the complexion.
Massage a small amount over dry or slightly damp skin and remove with lukewarm water or a soft, damp cloth. Avoid rubbing.
Microbiome Wash & Clean
A practical daily product that combines cleansing and care in one step. It is suitable for normal and combination skin and for anyone who prefers a rinse-off cleanser.
Apply to damp skin, massage gently and rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Microbiome Cleansing Foam
A lightweight, refreshing cleansing foam for all skin types, particularly normal, combination or oilier skin. It removes impurities and excess sebum without unnecessarily disrupting the skin barrier.
The pH-balanced formula includes a Microbiome Complex, aloe vera, edelweiss, panthenol and conditioning components. Apply one or two pumps to damp hands, massage gently over the face and rinse thoroughly.
Microbiome Daily Balancing Tonic
A conditioning toner for use after cleansing. It refreshes the skin and prepares it for a concentrate, serum or moisturiser.
Apply with clean hands or a soft cotton pad. The toner does not need to be rinsed off.
Which cleanser suits your skin?
Choose Microbiome Milk for:
• Dry or dehydrated skin.
• Sensitive or reactive skin.
• A tight skin feeling.
• Mature skin requiring additional comfort.
• Removing light makeup.
Choose Microbiome Wash & Clean for:
• Normal skin.
• Combination skin.
• A simple daily routine.
• A preference for a rinse-off cleanser.
• Skin that should feel clean but comfortable.
Choose Microbiome Cleansing Foam for:
• Normal or combination skin.
• Oilier skin.
• Excess sebum or a shiny T-zone.
• A preference for a fresh foam texture.
• Skin that should not feel tight after cleansing.
Use Microbiome Daily Balancing Tonic after your chosen cleanser when the skin requires additional freshness and preparation for subsequent skincare.
Morning routine
Choose Microbiome Milk, Wash & Clean or Cleansing Foam for your skin type.
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water if required.
Apply Microbiome Daily Balancing Tonic.
Use a serum suited to your primary skin concern.
Apply eye care.
Use a suitable Mila d’Opiz moisturiser.
Finish with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or SPF 50.
Dry or sensitive skin does not always require extensive cleansing in the morning. Rinsing with lukewarm water or using a small amount of Microbiome Milk may be sufficient.
Evening routine
Remove eye makeup with a suitable eye-makeup remover.
Remove makeup and sunscreen with Microbiome Milk.
Cleanse a second time with Wash & Clean or Cleansing Foam if necessary.
Apply Daily Balancing Tonic.
Use a suitable serum or concentrate.
Apply eye cream.
Finish with a moisturiser or night cream.
Is double cleansing necessary?
Double cleansing can be useful when wearing makeup, water-resistant sunscreen or if the skin is oilier. Use Microbiome Milk first to loosen makeup and sunscreen, followed by Wash & Clean or Cleansing Foam.
One gentle cleanse is often sufficient for dry, sensitive or minimally made-up skin. Cleansing too frequently or intensely can disturb the natural skin barrier.
Which products combine well?
• Microbiome Milk with Daily Balancing Tonic.
• Microbiome Wash & Clean with Daily Balancing Tonic.
• Microbiome Cleansing Foam with Hyaluronic⁷ Serum.
• Microbiome Milk with Vitamin B3 Concentrate for sensitive skin.
• Daily Balancing Tonic with a Mila d’Opiz concentrate.
• Every Microbiome routine with a suitable moisturiser.
• Every morning routine with broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Which combinations require additional care?
• Do not use several cleansers when one cleanse is sufficient.
• Do not immediately follow cleansing with a strong peel if the skin feels tight.
• Avoid hot water.
• Do not cleanse for too long or massage with excessive pressure.
• Reduce frequency if the skin becomes dry, red or flaky.
• Avoid contact with the eyes unless the product is suitable for this area.
• Check the ingredient list if you have a known sensitivity to fragrance.
Microbiome Cleansing Foam contains fragrance. Highly sensitive or fragrance-reactive skin should patch-test it first or select the cleanser that is personally best tolerated.
Microbiome for blemish-prone and oilier skin
Oilier or blemish-prone skin also requires gentle cleansing. Strong degreasing products can cause tightness and disturb the skin’s balance.
Microbiome Cleansing Foam helps remove excess sebum and daily impurities, but it does not treat acne. Combine it with a targeted blemish product and a lightweight moisturiser if needed.
Tips for balanced skin
• Cleanse no more than twice daily.
• Use lukewarm rather than hot water.
• Pat the skin dry after cleansing.
• Select the texture suited to your skin type.
• Always follow cleansing with suitable skincare.
• Avoid harsh daily scrubbing.
• Remove makeup and sunscreen every evening.
• Apply sunscreen during the day.
What can you expect?
After cleansing, the skin should feel clean, fresh and comfortable. A well-chosen cleanser should not leave the complexion feeling persistently tight, dry or irritated.
The Microbiome range provides the foundation of a complete routine but does not replace serum, moisturiser or sunscreen. Seek medical advice if the skin remains severely red, itchy, painful or flaky.
