Sun Protection against UVA, UVB and Blue Light
Mila d’Opiz protection against UV radiation
Daily UV protection is an essential part of every skincare routine. UVA and UVB radiation may contribute to sunburn, dark spots, loss of firmness and premature skin ageing.
The sun is not only present during summer. The skin is also exposed to UV radiation on cloudy days and throughout autumn and winter. Daily sunscreen is therefore particularly important for dark spots, sensitive skin and routines containing retinol or exfoliating acids.
Mila d’Opiz SUN SUN Drops SPF 50 & Bluelight provide high daily protection in a lightweight and flexible formula. The drops protect against UVA and UVB radiation and help protect the skin against blue light.
Why is daily UV protection important?
Daily sun protection helps to:
• Protect the skin against UVA and UVB radiation.
• Help prevent sunburn.
• Limit premature skin ageing caused by sunlight.
• Help prevent dark spots from developing or becoming darker.
• Protect collagen and elasticity against light-related damage.
• Support the skin during the use of retinol, vitamin C or exfoliating acids.
• Protect sensitive or easily reddened skin against additional stress.
• Maintain the results of a skin-improving routine.
What is the difference between UVA and UVB?
UVA radiation
UVA radiation penetrates more deeply into the skin and plays an important role in premature skin ageing, wrinkles, pigmentation and loss of elasticity. UVA is present throughout the year and can partially pass through glass.
UVB radiation
UVB radiation primarily affects the skin’s surface and is a major cause of sunburn. Its intensity varies according to season, location and time of day.
Broad-spectrum sunscreen is designed to protect against both UVA and UVB radiation.
Mila d’Opiz SUN SUN Drops SPF 50 & Bluelight
SUN SUN Drops SPF 50 are lightweight sun-protection drops for daily use. The formula contains broad-spectrum UVA and UVB filters as well as a filter that helps protect against blue light.
The drops create a protective layer on the skin without feeling heavy. They can be applied directly or mixed with a daily facial moisturiser according to the product directions.
What do SUN SUN Drops SPF 50 do?
• Provide high SPF 50 sun protection.
• Protect against UVA and UVB radiation.
• Help protect against blue light from screens and artificial light sources.
• Help limit light-related skin stress and premature ageing.
• Have a lightweight texture for daily use.
• Can be applied directly or used with a daily moisturiser.
• Are suitable for all skin types.
• Complement routines targeting dark spots and skin ageing.
Important sun filters and caring ingredients
Tinosorb A2B
A modern sunscreen filter that reflects, scatters and absorbs UV radiation and part of the visible blue-light spectrum. It supports protection against light-related skin stress.
Bemotrizinol
A broad-spectrum filter that absorbs harmful light energy and provides protection against UVA and UVB radiation.
Tara extract
Supports the skin’s natural response to light exposure and contributes to skin stability and care.
Sunflower extract and caring oils
These ingredients provide additional antioxidant and caring support while helping keep the skin smooth and comfortable.
Which skin types are SUN Drops suitable for?
Suitable for:
• All skin types.
• Normal and combination skin.
• Dry or dehydrated skin.
• Oilier skin that dislikes a heavy sunscreen.
• Sensitive or easily reddened skin.
• Mature skin.
• Skin with dark spots or uneven tone.
• Skin treated with retinol, vitamin C, peelings or acids.
For highly sensitive skin, patch-test the product on a small area first.
How to use Mila d’Opiz SUN Drops SPF 50
Cleanse the skin.
Apply serum and eye cream if desired.
Use your normal daily moisturiser.
Apply SUN Drops evenly as the final skincare step before exposure to sunlight or light.
According to the product directions, the drops may also be mixed with a daily facial moisturiser. In either case, distribute a generous, even layer across the face, neck and other exposed skin.
Use the amount recommended on the current packaging. Applying too little reduces the actual level of protection.
Daily morning routine
Gentle facial cleanser.
Toner or lotion.
Serum or concentrate.
Eye cream.
Day moisturiser.
SUN SUN Drops SPF 50 as the final skincare step.
Apply makeup after the sunscreen has been distributed evenly and allowed to settle.
Reapplication
Reapply during prolonged outdoor exposure and always after swimming, heavy perspiration or towel drying. Additional protection is particularly important during holidays, exercise, cycling, gardening and prolonged exposure to strong sunlight.
No sunscreen provides complete protection. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense midday sun and wear protective clothing, a hat and sunglasses when appropriate.
Mila Sun Bronzing Spray SPF 20
Bronzing Spray combines a sun-kissed appearance with SPF 20. It may suit shorter or less intensive exposure but provides less protection than SPF 50.
SPF 50 is preferable for fair skin, dark spots, active skincare ingredients or prolonged and intense sun exposure. Apply generously and evenly and follow the current directions on the packaging.
White Shade Vision Serum with an integrated UV system
White Shade Vision Serum is a brightening serum for dark spots and uneven-looking skin tone. Its integrated UV system helps protect the skin against the harmful and visible effects of daily UV radiation.
However, the serum does not state a separate SPF rating and therefore does not replace a dedicated broad-spectrum sunscreen. Apply SUN Drops SPF 50 as the final daytime step.
Mila Sun After Sun Lotion
After Sun Lotion is used following sun exposure to cool, hydrate and care for the skin. It may soothe a warm, dry or tight skin feel.
Aftersun is not sunscreen and cannot prevent UV damage. Always use an appropriate SPF during sun exposure.
Which products combine well?
• SUN Drops SPF 50 with Hyaluronic⁷ Serum.
• SUN Drops SPF 50 with Mila Sensitive Light or Rich Cream.
• SUN Drops SPF 50 with White Shade Vision Serum and Cream.
• SUN Drops SPF 50 with The Skin Whisperer Serum and Cream.
• SUN Drops SPF 50 with Vitamin C Concentrate.
• SUN Drops SPF 50 during a routine containing retinol or exfoliating acids.
• Mila Sun After Sun Lotion following sun exposure.
Why is SPF especially important with active skincare?
Retinol, peelings and exfoliating acids may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight or make the effects of unprotected exposure more visible. Daily SPF is also essential in a routine for dark spots because sunlight can darken existing pigmentation and stimulate new discolouration.
Use sunscreen consistently, including when active products are applied only in the evening.
Common sunscreen mistakes
• Applying too little product.
• Wearing SPF only on warm or sunny days.
• Forgetting the neck, ears, hairline and décolleté.
• Assuming makeup with a low SPF provides sufficient protection.
• Not reapplying during prolonged exposure.
• Confusing a serum with UV-supporting ingredients with a dedicated SPF.
• Remaining in the sun for too long because a high SPF is being used.
Important directions
• Apply sunscreen before sun exposure.
• Avoid direct contact with the eyes.
• Discontinue use if persistent irritation occurs.
• Always check the current ingredient list if you have allergies.
• Keep babies and young children protected with shade and clothing whenever possible.
• Do not store sunscreen for extended periods in a hot car or direct sunlight.
• Do not use after the period-after-opening date has expired.
